How are we doing?

Dear Association Member,
We hope that you and yours are keeping safe and well?
The BPAA, having got off to a really great rebirth at the back end of 2019, suddenly found itself going into limbo soon after we went into 2020, when the Pandemic struck, and Archery GB took the decision on Government advice to cancel all sporting activities until further notice.
The Association still continues to operate but on a limited basis. We had to immediately contact other Associations where archery events for members had been arranged for the 2020 season and cancel them. We had hoped that we might be able to reinstate some of them during the latter half of 2020, but this now seems increasingly unlikely. The Centre is currently discussing (remotely of course) plans for what we can achieve for our membership in 2021, and hopefully by then AGB will be in a position to reopen our sport to competition, but of course at this stage we, as no doubt they, are unsure what that will look like.

In the meantime, we continue to answer questions from members and others, via our official email address of  Currently our private website, which you are all signed into, continues to be periodically updated, but we would be also pleased to hear from our members, what they have been up to and how they have been coping throughout the Pandemic. We will be happy to publish on the website your stories, so please let us know.
My own club the – Kent Police Archery Club has under the latest AGB guidelines, just returned to a very limited form of archery, but members seem to find this better than being restricted to (in some cases) shooting in the back garden. So let us know how you and your clubs are doing, and we will put it into print.
In the meantime, whilst we are all excited about the relaxation of some of the imposed restrictions, remember to still keep safe, keep the required distance, and wash hands regularly.
Looking forward to catching up with you all again soon.
